I'm very glad to be part of this platform. I'm water activist in Madagascar. We lead WASH education to youth and children living in rural area where many people do not have access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. Looking forward to contributing at thé forum.

Thank you for your remarks/Questions. In fact; the performance of JIRAMA is generally negative .This is explained by recurrent blackouts repeatedly trigger complaints from the customers and several causes could lead to this situation: they can be political, economic, social, technical or commercial. Many studies show that Madagascar gets an abundant water resources, however, because of its huge regional differences in climate, the water resources are unevenly distributed (abundance in the North and the Central regions and scarcity in the South). Despite this, access to drinking water remains a challenge. With partners, we work together to implement programs related on Wash and SDG including capacity building on IWRM and water gouvernance within the communities; WASH education in school, water events and communication, water supply,... Then, with others OSC platforms, we urge the government to put in place effective energy policies and prioritize WASH sectors in their development program.

In my opinion, local managers and water service providers are both beneficiaries and actors for SDGs achievements. The etablishment of an inclusive and participative management system among stakeholders including local communities (women, youth), water services providers and authorities...is essential for SDGs achievement.

In some localities, Water management is entrusted to the water or committee association of water users (involving local community, civil society...)
I think that resilient and adaptation strategies/policies should be adopted to deal with climate change by:
- promoting green infrastructures in cities,e.g: green area, urban agriculture, gree energy... - Building-capacity for city leaders and OSC or other stakeholders about disaster risk managment, urban planning/innovation. - - Improving urban water management including sanitation and waste management, especially for developping country.
