Mohammad Faiz Alam

Masters in Environmental Engineering

Mohammad Faiz Alam currently works with International Water Management Institute (IWMI) where his research focuses on the role of groundwater for food security and flood mitigation. He has worked/interned with Potsdam institute for climate Impact research (PIK), IWMI and Global Water Partnership (GWP) working on groundwater, urban waste management and urban water policy, respectively. His research interest lies in understanding and implementing solutions for water management through combination of technical and social interventions in a broader context of Water-Food-Energy nexus. He holds a Master’s degree in environmental engineering focusing on water resources from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

François Brikké

Sanitary engineer and Economist

François Brikke is a senior Development Economist and a Sanitary Engineer. He is now working with the Global Water Partnership based in Stockholm, and is the focal point on the theme of Integrated Urban Water Management. He has 25 years experience in the water and sanitation sector in Asia, Latin America and Africa, with an emphasis on policy and institutional development for the water resource, water supply and sanitation sector, holding various positions with UNICEF, the Water and Sanitation Program of the World Bank and IRC.

Laura Lima Guaitolini

Environmental engineer

Laura Lima Guaitolini graduated in Environmental Engineer at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and was an exchange student of Environment and Planning at the University of Liverpool, where she has developed projects in Urban Green Infrastructure. She is a delegate for the Espírito Santo state in the Brazilian Youth Parliament for Water (Parlamento Nacional da Juventude pela Água - PNJA) since 2015 and part of the Organization Comission of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize in Brazil.She currently works at the Schneider Electric's Sustainability Department for South America, where she is responsible for eco-efficiency projects related to energy use, water consumption, carbon footprint and circular economy for industrial and sanitation segments.
