The World Water Council (WWC) organizes the 8th World Water Forum since 1996. For the first time, the event will be held in a country in the southern hemisphere: Brazil. The Federal Government, through the National Water Agency (ANA), and the Federal District Government, represented by the Regulatory Agency for Water, Energy and Sanitation of the Federal District (Adasa) and the Brazilian Association of ABDIB Infrastructure and Basic Industries endorse it.

World Water Council (WWC) – The WWC criated the World Water Forum. The organization is an international multi-stakeholder platform established in 1996 on the initiative of renowned water specialists and international organisations, in response to an increasing concern about world water issues from the global community.
Brazilian Association of Infrastructure and Basic Industries (ABDIB) – Responsible for raising funds for the 8th Forum. Part of the National Organizing Committee (NOC). In addition, it is a member of the World Water Council (WWC) and actively participates in the Organization of the 8th Forum since Brazil's bid to host the event in 2011.
Regulatory Agency for Water, Energy and Sanitation of the Federal District (Adasa) – Represents the Government of the Federal District in the articulation of the Forum and is a member of the Organizing Committee. The organization coordinates the Executive Committee, which brings together about 30 institutions and of the Management Committee, formed by the Planning, Budget and Management Office of the Federal District (Seplag), by the Civil, Institutional and Social Relations Cabinet of the Federal District.
National Water Agency (ANA) – Represents the Ministry of Environment (MMA) in the initiatives of the Forum and is a member of the Organizing Committee of the Forum. It is responsible for the Secretariat of the event, which is implementing the 8th World Water Forum in Brazil and coordinating communication strategies, with the support of the Organizing Committee of the Forum.
