About the award
The Brazil Teachers Award, promoted by the Ministry of Education together with the National Water Agency, aims at acknowledging the teachers’ contribution to the improvement of school education quality through successful pedagogical experiences. One of the goals is to value the teachers’ role as fundamental agents in the training process of new generations.
The award has six categories: Nursery School; Kindergarten; Elementary School – first to third grades; Elementary School – fourth and fifth grades; Middle School/Junior High School – sixth to ninth grades; and Senior High School.
This edition has a special award. Among the 162 state winners, those who write about the special themes, such as “conscious water use and conservation”, will receive extra prizes. The winners of the six best reports on water use will have the opportunity to present their experiences at the 8th World Water Forum.
Teachers from federal, state and local public schools can apply, as well as philanthropic institutions with a partnership agreement with public school systems. Only practices with proven results during the Brazilian school years of 2016 and 2017 will be accepted. The registration of participants is free and can be made on the award website, available here.
